Simply The Best Events Goes to the Farm – Serenbe Farms

I attended a Serenbe Open House and was happy to discover this truly hidden getaway.  It’s the perfect place for the laid back natural earthy girl to have her wedding. It’s also perfect for a weekend getaway with the hubby or the girlfriends. There is shopping and a spa a mile away in the community, as they call it.

Lowe’s Grand Opening

The Grand Opening of the Loews Atlanta Hotel was March 31st.  I was invited to attend by my corporate hotel partners ALHI.  I was expecting a nice lunch and some talking heads and a tour of the facility.  I invited one of my PR colleagues who called me to see if I had arrived and was in the crowd on the street.  The street?  Why are you on the street?  Are there that many people that you guys are overflowing into the street?  I was in route and she gave me directions on where to park and said the marching band is about to come.  Marching band I thought.  I arrived and everyone was outside waiting on the ribbon cutting as CEO Jonathan Tish and management spoke, along side Atlanta City Mayor Kasim Reed and City Council President Caesar Mitchell.  After they cut the ribbon the band lead us into the hotel like the Pied Piper, without the wicked end.

As we entered the hotel we were directed to take the elevator up to the ballroom level for lunch.

As we exited the elevator we were serenaded by a gospel choir as we made our way to the ballroom.  The ballroom and table decor had an earthy vibe with the natural colored table linen and eco friendly recycled paper centerpieces.  Quite creative.  I am looking forward to translating it for a client for a future event.

Unfortunately this picture isn’t that great, but you get the idea.

They served Chilean Seabass.  My favorite! (I digress:  Did you know that Chilean Seabass is called Patagonian toothfish, but due to the unappetizing name it’s called Chilean Seabass here in America.  From what I understand, when the name changed sales went up and so did the price.  A little something I learned from my chef friend)   However, it was dry and not that flavorful.  The dessert however was simply delicious!!

My next visit is towards the end of the month where I will experience the hotel rooms. By the way, the hotel is planning for a spa to open in July!
