“Outrageous Kid Parties”

Hi Moms, Dads and friends of parents.   Erin Keim a Casting Associate with the TLC show “Outrageous Kid Parties” is looking for AMAZING families with BIG personalities!  The children should be outgoing and between the ages 5 and 10.  They want families that are going to have fun throwing an “outrageous” party.  Think “My Super Sweet 16″ meets elementary school.  The party doesn’t necessarily need to be for a birthday.  They want end of school, braces off, half-birthday, virtually anything!  The sky is the limit!  They want families of any background, on any budget.  They are looking to cast this show fairly quickly, as filming begins at the end of April and goes through May.  If you know any family that has always wanted to be on television, PLEASE send them her way!  This is a super fun opportunity and is going to be a great time for everyone involved!   If interested, email the following info to outrageousKidParties@gmail

If you are a fashionista bride-to-be on a budget check out these great finds.
Ok, take a guess.   How much do you think these dresses cost?

Wedding Gowns

Well I discovered these dresses for only $229, $186 and $214 respectively.  Above are a few of my favorites, (under Unique Wedding Dresses) but take a look for yourself at www.inweddingdress.com.  They also have nice bridesmaid dresses.  If you buy one, let me know how it turns out.

Table of Eight

I coordinated an event for the members of GWBC’s Voice Committee at The Cooks Warehouse and it was lot’s of fun!!   The Voice Committee holds a quarterly event called Table of 8, where the members network amongst each other.  As the resident event planner of the committee, it was my duty to organize the event and I loved every minute of it.  We started by dividing the attendees into groups based on the type of food they were interested in making.

We quickly got to know each other in our groups as we chopped, whipped and mixed our delicious masterpieces.  Within an hour each group prepared one of the following:  Smoked Trout Mousse, Grilled Vegetables, Angel Food Cake, Hummus and Chicken Skewers with Tomato Coulis.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the food family style.  The food was very good and easy to make!!  As a matter of fact, for a recent party at my home I actually made the hummus and smoked trout.  We spent the remainder of the event getting to know each other’s businesses.

The team over at The Cook’s Warehouse was fantastic!  Thanks to Wendy my initial contact, Matthew the manger for helping us pull it all together and Mary the owner who allowed us to take over her store for two hours.  If you are looking for a team building activity, outing for a group of couples or the girls, The Cooks Warehouse is the perfect place!!  http://www.cookswarehouse.com/

Review of the Ventanas – A Fabulous Gem in Downtown Atlanta

I attended an industry event at Ventanas last night and discovered a fabulous gem in downtown Atlanta. As I was driving I was familiar with the area and as I neared the end of my directions I had no clue where I could possibly be going.  There it was on my right!!  Who knew it was here?  It opened in late 2009, so it’s fairly new.  I parked and found the elevator up.  When I first got off the elevator I entered this extremely dark loft space.  The mood was a bit odd as if I was going to a funeral or something.  However, I think they wanted to create a dramatic effect for us planners.  As time passed they instructed us to make our way to the lower level so the program can start.  As we walked down the stairs to the second level it was as if we left the funeral and entered a party for the resurrected party.  The room was all glass and had stunning views of Atlanta. The light flooded in like the sun bursting through the clouds.  As I made my walk down the stairs I saw a helipad sign.  This would be great for the bride and groom to make their getaway or for the sweet sixteen birthday boy or girl to make an entrance. Very nice hidden gem.  http://ventanasatlanta.com/
